sexual harassment

sexual harassment
Unwanted and unwelcome sexual advances or conduct (e.g., remarks) on the job that create an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment. Sexual harassing behavior ranges from repeated offensive jokes to a workplace full of pornography to sexual assault. Sexual harassment is a private nuisance, an unfair labor practice, and, in some states, a civil wrong (tort), and is prohibited by the federal Civil Rights Act of 1991 as well as by state laws. See harassment.
